Original competition entry for The Mobile Activation Station

The four pages of our original competition entry are shown below – click any image to get a full-size version.

The Mobile Activation Station is a portable, reconfigurable table with built-in power distribution, lighting and storage. Whether for meetings, eating together, working, or sitting and talking, the table is the center of temporary community gatherings. The Station requires no permits or structural changes. Assembled in less than thirty minutes, it turns empty stores into communal spaces.

Once built, the Station will be available for short-term use in vacant storefronts along Rogers Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. When not in use, the folded Station is convenient to store – in a garage, or even for a few days outside in an alleyway. We will advertise the Station locally, and facilitate the first year of use.
